500 members to attend meeting of Anglo-Indian association in Pune

After a gap of four years members of the All India Anglo-Indian Association (AIAIA) will gather at Pune’s The Bishop’s School, Camp to participate in the 148th annual general meeting.

“We have held annual meetings virtually but were not able to meet in person due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” says Barry O’Brien, prominent educationist and author, who will chair the Annual General Meeting.

“On Friday it was a meet and greet event and over the weekend (October 21 and 22) we will conduct serious business meetings and discuss relevant topics,” Brien, who is president-in-chief of the All-India Anglo-Indian Association told The Indian Express.

The meeting will be attended by high-ranked dignitaries, Governing Body Members, and over 200 Delegates from 63 branches spread all through the country, besides about 120 delegates from Pune.Governing body members like Rudolf Woodman, . Glen Galstaun, MLA , Dr. Oscar Nigli, Bernard Rodrigues, ex-MLAs, and others will participate.
“At least 500 members will participate in the event,” Brien added.

At the event Saturday, awards will be given to various members of the community for rendering services in their respective branches and for excellence in various walks of life, said, Shayne McPherson, Principal, The Bishop’s School, Camp and honorary secretary of the Bishop’s Education Society.
