Police foil plan to loot McDonald’s Pune outlet, 3 gang members arrested

The Maharashtra Police early on Thursday foiled a plan of robbers to loot cash from a McDonald’s outlet in Pune. They arrested three of the gang members and recovered sharp weapons and a car from their possession, officials said, adding that a search has been launched to nab their accomplices who managed to escape.

The police have identified the arrested as Prashant Tikote, 22, Rohan Kamble, 19, and Ganesh Sasane, 24. The police said the men, along with their accomplices, allegedly planned to loot the fast food chain’s outlet near Jagtap Chowk in the Wanavdi area. But before they could execute their plan, the police nabbed them near Samvidhan Chowk in Wanavdi.

The police have booked the accused under sections 399, and 402 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections of Indian Arms Act.
