Pune: The atmosphere of Day 2 of the second edition of SFA Championships in Pune exuded with excitement, creating a dynamic environment. The Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex and Shivaji Nagar and Ganga Legends Sports Complex were gripped with football fever, as league matches commenced across the U-14, U-16, and U-18 categories.
The battle for gold was evident as participants displayed their best performances. Over 750 enthusiastic young footballers brought their A-game to the field, displaying determination and prowess in every kick.
The SFA Championships grounds saw prominent athletes likeLoyola High School Student Ayush Chavan used his 13 years of archery experience and snapped up a notable 15 medals in the boys U-14 category. He has participated in Nationals and District championships in the past.
Additionally, Sharanya Sonawane, competing in the U-14 Archery (recurve category, secured the second position. Sharanya boasts an impressive 10th rank in the SGFI, a 5th rank in CBSE U14 nationals. Sharanya, who has made her mark in the Asia World Book Records, said “I practice for two hours, every day. My goal is to become an Olympic gold medallist in archery. and participate in the Asian Games. My role models are my coach, Abhijeet Dalve, and the brilliant Choi Mi Sun.”
