Pune: Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy’s Sukant Kadam has qualified for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games which is scheduled to take place in August-September.
This achievement marks a significant chapter in Sukant’s athletic career and NKBA’s history.
Speaking after qualifying Sukant said “Qualifying for the Paris 2024 Paralympics is a dream come true for me, and I have worked incredibly hard to achieve it. However, my ultimate goal is to win a medal and make India proud. I am deeply grateful to Nikhil Kanetkar sir, Mayank Gole sir, and the entire academy for their invaluable efforts and guidance in helping me reach this milestone.”
Speaking after the qualification Nikhil Kanetkar said “When we started NKBA in 2011, we had 2 Big Dreams – to have a player in the Top 3 in the World in Juniors & to have an Olympian from our Academy. Two years ago, Varun Kapur became World No.1 in Under 19 Boys Singles & now Sukant Kadam has qualified for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. It is the most satisfying feeling. Sukant has been with us from 2014. Now we will focus on training Sukant to win a Medal for India at the Paralympic Games.”
