Pune: Pune-based Off-roading enthusiasts Ghanshyam Singh and Dr. Vitesh Popli are readying for their dream of off-road adventure. The two from totally different backgrounds in terms of profession have got together as a team sanyogi taking part in mountain GOAT expedition, an endurance drive from Shimla to Kaza via Manali criss-crossing the extreme weather conditions that dip to 30 degrees below zero, testing the resilience of man and machine. The expedition, also referred to as 4WD Winter Marathon, runs from February 15 to 23. The two will be driving their 4WD Mahindra Thar from Pune in a non-stop endurance trip passing through Indore, Delhi and Chandigarh before reaching the Himalayan mountains in Shimla where they expect to face hostile temperatures. They will have to manoeuvre their vehicle through the slippery black ice just after leaving Shimla. The toughest drive the two expect will be to cross through 4-5 feet of snow as They would pass through the Atal tunnel formerly and more popularly known as Rohtang pass near Manali. Then comes Chicham bridge that will lead them to Kaza.
“I have 4 years of off-road experience in and around Pune. I want to test unknown and extreme Himalayan terrains”, said Ghanshyam Singh.
His co driver Vitesh Popli chipped in saying “I am putting my 7 years of 4×4 experience to challenging the snow drive in Himalayas
