As the number of Covid-19 cases is on the rise in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, housing societies are gearing up and helping fellow citizens in whatever way they can.
Right from doing all the running around, helping people to find beds to being in the forefront to help those staying in their building/society, people are all out helping one another.
Puneinsight spoke to Sachin Mane from Aishwaryam Courtyard, Chikhali who has been busy helping people and trying to bring about the change.
Speaking about the on-ground situation, Mane said: “The situation all over the city is very serious, on the other hand, all the people want to unlock immediately to avoid a further economic impact.”
Adding further Mane said “All the sectors are in trouble, especially the automobile industry which is in big crises, due to the current Covid-19 situation. There is nothing announced yet from the Central Government for MSME.”
Stressing on the need for proper guidelines for hospitals, Mane said “It is very difficult for the public to find beds easily and to get admission in government and private hospitals. There is a dire need to make proper guidelines for the same.”
Highlighting his views on how housing societies can help each other Mane said “Yes helping each other is the most important aspect. We need to maintain social distancing properly so that there is no community spread. This big storm is common for all, but all societies are in different boats, so they have to support each other.”
“We need to appreciate all those who are taking the risk and defending the public from the Covid-19 spread. A special salute to the HK team, health department staff, all doctors, police department and especially our health minister,” Mane concluded.
Another member who did not wish to be named added “This is the time that everyone shows the proper team spirit and helps in whatever way they can. Even cheering and welcoming back a person from the hospital tends to be a major confidence booster and spreads positive vibes. I sincerely hope that a vaccine comes and all this madness ends soon and we are back to our daily routine.”
