Millennium National School Lights Up Volleyball Courts, Aaryans World School Sweeps Through Kabaddi

Pune: SFA Championships 2024 Pune showcased an exhilarating display of talent on the volleyball courts on Day 5, with Millennium National School, Karve Nagar, emerging as the standout performer. The institution dominated the competition, clinching gold in the Girls U-14, U-16, and Boys U-14 categories, asserting their supremacy across divisions. Additionally, BVB’s Sulochana Natu Vidya Mandir, Shivajinagar, secured the Boys U-16 gold, while Late Bandoji Khandoji Chavan Jr. College, Dhayari, claimed victory in the Boys U-18 category.

Sports For All (SFA) is committed to professionalising, organising, and monetising grassroots sports, aiming to foster a culture that values and invests in sports nationwide. The championships this year will run until November 28, roping in participants from across Pune in a hunt for the best talents. This year, more than 16,000 athletes from over 612 schools, ranging from ages 3 to 18, are competing across multiple venues in the city, highlighting the event’s remarkable growth and its commitment to nurturing young sporting talent.

The SFA Championships 2024 have brought a thrilling lineup of 22 sports to Pune for the third edition. Friday, Day 5 of the Championships in the city, also witnessed the continuation of the football, badminton, and basketball tournaments, while the start of tennis, table tennis, and skating.

Elsewhere, Loyola High School, Pashan, delivered a commanding performance in the hockey tournament, sweeping through the competition to secure gold in the Boys U-12, U-14, and U-16 categories, establishing themselves as a powerhouse on the field. Meanwhile, Aaryans World School, Warje, matched the intensity with an equally impressive run, clinching three gold medals in Girls U-14, Boys U-14, and Boys U-17 categories. These victories added to their tally, following their Girls U-17 gold from the previous day.

The day’s action wasn’t confined to the courts and fields, as talented athletes showcased precision and focus on the shooting range. Competing in events like Air Pistol, Peep Sight, and Open Sight, the young individuals demonstrated remarkable skill, composure, and excellence.
