NKBA’s Purva Barve Clinches Women’s Singles Title at Maharashtra State Sr. District Badminton Championship

Pune: Purva Barve from Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA) reigned supreme with an incredible comeback defeating Aarya Korgaonkar 17-21, 21-7, 21-11 to clinch the Women’s Singles title at the Yonex-Sunrise Shri Nandu Natekar Memorial Maharashtra State Sr. District Badminton Championship-2024.

In the semifinal action, Purva defeated top seed Saad Dharmadhikari with the score reading 21-14, 21-6 to enter the final.

Earlier in the quarterfinal encounter, Purva got the better of Ananya Gadgil 21-14, 21-18 to proceed further.

Speaking about her performance, Purva said “The tournament has been a good learning experience for me. I couldn’t have done this without the unwavering support of my academy, NKBA, and my coaches, who have always believed in me and pushed me to perform at my best. Their guidance and encouragement have played a huge role in my success, and I am deeply grateful for their support.”
