Pune: Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy’s (NKBA) Suveer Pradhan and Shreyas Sane clinched titles in the Boys Singles and Mixed Doubles categories respectively at the Yonex Sunrise Chh. Shivajiraje Bhonsale Memorial Maharashtra Under-19 State Selection Badminton Tournament 2023 which concluded in Satara on Tuesday.
In the Boys Singles final, Suveer defeated academy mate Shreyas Sane 21-13, 21-11 to walk home with the title.
Earlier in the semifinals, Suveer beat top seed Krish Desai 21-16, 19-21, 22-20 while Shreyas Sane got past Sarvesh Yadav with the score reading 17-21, 21-18, 21-16.
In the Mixed Doubles battle, the pair of Shreyas Sane and Aarti Chougale defeated Harsh Sharma and Sonali Mirkhelkar 23-21, 21-19.
In the semi-final action, Shreyas Sane and Aarti Chougale defeated Nagesh Chamle and Nehal Gosavi 21-15, 21-3.
Speaking on their performance Nikhil Kanetkar said “Congratulations to Suveer and Shreyas for winning the State titles in Satara. I am happy that all our players did well at the tournament.”
