Prof.Dr. Mangesh Karad, Vice-Chancellor and Executive President of MIT University of Art, Design and Technology, Vishwarajbagh, Pune, was honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 10th International “Samudramanthan” award ceremony organized by Bhandarkar Publications at Bay View Domestic Cruise Terminal. Prof. Dr. Sunita Mangesh Karad, Director of “MIT ADT” “Mitcom and ICT” accepted the award on his behalf.
On this occasion, Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, Commanding officer-in-Chief of Western Naval Command, former Shipping Director Amitabh Kumar, IAS Officer Sanjay Bhatia, Captain Vivek Bhandarkar, CEO of Bhandarkar Publication and others were present.
Prof. Dr. Karad has been given this award for contribution in the field of Marine Engineering by “Maharashtra Naval Education and Training Academy (MANET)” of MIT ADT University. MANET is Proudly working in this field, having 4000 alumni working in various officer positions in the Merchant Navy sector. For this award, MANET’s 100 percent placement guarantee, recognition of being the first institution in Asia to set up a Ship-in-Campus (SIC), an Olympic size swimming pool on campus and other world-class facilities provided to the students were considered.
