Pune-Mumbai expressway to be closed for two hours today

The Pune-Mumbai Expressway would be closed for two hours from noon to 2pm on Tuesday for the installation of gantries at two points near the Amrutanjan bridge and the Khandala tunnel, MSRDC said.
The highway would be reopened for regular traffic movement after the completion of the work, an official of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) said.
Superintendent of police, Highway Safety Patrol (Pune), Lata Phad said, “MSRDC officials will be installing gantry for ITMS (intelligent traffic management system) in the Bor Ghat section of the Pune-Mumbai Expressway on Tuesday.”
“To facilitate the installation project, vehicular movement would not be allowed on the expressway between noon and 2pm on Tuesday,” Phad said.

She added, “Light motor vehicles, like cars, SUVs and others, would be diverted to the old Pune-Mumbai highway from Somatne Phata and other diversions. Heavy vehicles will remain halted on the expressway for the stipulated time.”
