Pune: Over 100 corporate and business leaders will tee-off at the Oxford Golf Resort on Saturday in the Western regional round, the penultimate Regional round of the21st edition of the annual World Corporate Golf Challenge. The tournament is the longest-running corporate event in India and it played its last two legs in Mumbai and Bangalore and will now head to Delhi for the final regional qualifier, followed by the National Finals on Dec. 11th & 12th at ITC Classic Golf Resort in Manesar.
A total of 400 invited senior corporate executives and business leaders will vie for 4 spots from each city at the National Finals. The two winners of the National Finals in Delhi will get to represent India at the WCGC World Final in Portugal in the summer of 2022, where they will compete with the golfers from 40 other countries.
The Chola World Corporate Golf Challenge, at 21 years, is the longest running multi-city corporate event in the country, with the only break coming in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. The tournament is supported by co sponsors Allcargo Logistics, White Oak Capital, Savills, MG Motor, One Plus, Ballantines & Indian Terrain.
India has had quality results in the past decade at the World Final as winners in 2008 & 2015 and runners-up in 2010, 2011 & 2014.
WCGC is the biggest international corporate golf team event in the globe involving more than 7500 corporate executives in 40 countries. India made its competitive debut in WCGC in 1999.
