Pune: The second edition of the Sports For All Championship unfolded at two locations in the city with Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex hosting football competitions and Archery events, while skating began at the Viman nagar skating Rink.
Both student-athletes and their parents, who accompanied them to the venue along with the coaches were overwhelmed by the response and facilities provided by the organisers.
In the Archery categories for Boys from U-10 to U-19, alongside for Girls from U-10 to U-14 categories. The ground was alive with the dynamic energy of young archer Indian bow skills.at the end of the Final round of U-10 Boys, Shlok Kanire from GG International School Pimpri, Pimpri-Chinchwad secured gold, Abeer Samir Patil from Walnut School, Fursungi claimed silver and Smayan Sandeep Patil from JSPM’s Blossom Public School, Tathawade earned bronze.
During the archery triumphs, the mother of Anusha Shegavi U-10 National player Indian Bow, shared, “Engaging my kids in extracurricular activities was important for their development. That’s when we discovered sports. As a working mother and dentist, I wanted a constructive after-school pursuit for them. Both my daughters took up archery. My elder daughter, Anvita achieved 5th rank in AICSE nationals, secured 12th rank at the state level, and now will play compound at SFA Championships. What started as a fun activity evolved into a passion, thanks to the guidance of Nitin Ambore, their coach. Today, my younger daughter Anusha competed in the Indian bow at archery,” is how she expressed.
Following the archery competitions, the athletics training arena saw some compelling Football League matches in the Boys U-10 and U-12 categories. A total footfall of 160 boys participated in the U-10 category, while 168 young talents showcased their skills in the U-12 category.
The spotlight then shifted to the Viman Nagar Skating Rink, where an equally riveting skating competition unfolded. The arena came alive with the graceful movements of numerous skaters, ranging from Boys in the U-5 to U-17 categories to Girls in the U-7 to U-17 categories. The Viman Nagar Skating Rink became a canvas for the artistry of the skaters, with each twist and turn adding to the overall excitement of the event.
Sports For All (SFA) is India’s largest tech-enabled multi-sport grassroots competition platform.
