The sports world is still trying to find a way back after the outbreak of the corona virus, but the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) is gearing up to improve the skills of its players with the initiative of Ultimate Kho Kho (UK). The revolutionary high-performance assessment and scientific analysis and evaluation program ‘Rise in Sports Excellence’ will be held for the first time.
The nearly one-month rigorous camp, which runs from January 18 to February 16, will be supervised by 18 women players, including 138 players, by experienced experts from the Anthropology Sports Science Center in Faridabad and SGT University in Gurugram. Through this, athletics will be evaluated and scientifically tested and with the help of all this, they will be able to move forward in the sport.
Along with Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, IOA General Secretary Rajiv Mehta and successive Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar and leading cricketers Suresh Raina and Mohammad Shami were present to inaugurate the popular sports personality training camp.
Ultimate Kho Kho is playing a pivotal role in investing and developing domestic sports. Amit Berman, the league’s promoter and chairman of the Dabur group, has pledged to invest nearly Rs 200 crore over the next five years. A large part of this investment is focused on grassroots development and this step will be important for the sport and its growth globally through this scientific program.
“I’ve always focused on thinking ahead of time and developing ideas within the brand, as well as promoting. Ultimate Kho Kho is no different as we envision excellence at the bottom and take the game to the next level. We need to introduce technology for the development of the game and improve the capabilities of our players and select players, making them champions and undefeated globally. ” UK promoter Amit Berman said.
The players will be analyzed along with a test during the 30-day camp. Criteria for sports physiotherapy, rehabilitation, injury management, biomechanics, biokinetics, sports performance analysis, nutritional guidance and personality development will be put into practice. Training in the game will resume in about 10 months. This training is divided into three phases namely transition, preparation and competitive.
“We have come here today to encourage the players. Thanks to Kiren Rijiju. This camp will be a milestone in sports science and technology for the development of our players in many ways and I am grateful for the support given by the Ministry, Sports Authority of India and our partner Ultimate Kho Kho for the development. We aim to create a group of players who are evolving into global players and ready for the challenges ahead, ”said KKFI President Sudhanshu Mittal.
Emphasizing these new ideas, Tenzing Niyogi, CEO of Ultimate Kho Kho, said, “Kho Kho has a deep cultural connection with the supporters. Ultimate Kho Kho promises a blockbuster league with its latent demand. The influx of sports science has changed a lot in team sports training. The camp will help transform athletes and become sports champions. During the camp, we are also considering testing new sports technology for tag sports to bring the concept of ‘Edge of the Seat’ to the audience. ”
